PGA TOUR VICTORIES:

NOTAH BEGAY III

The only full-blooded Native American on the PGA Tour, was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  A three-sport standout at the Albuquerque Academy High School, Notah combined his success on the golf course with his dedication to education and earned a scholarship to Stanford University.

 

A three-time All American at Stanford, Notah led the 1994 Men's Golf Team to a National Championship and set the record for lowest round (62) in the NCAA Tournament along the way. Notah graduated from Stanford in 1995 with a degree in Economics and continues to emphasize the importance of education through his Scholarship Fund for Native American students.

 

A 4-time PGA Tour winner, Notah became only the third player in the history of professional golf to shoot 59 in a professional event at the 1998 NIKE Dominion Open. One of three players in modern history to win two PGA Tour events in each of his first two seasons on Tour, Notah earned the opportunity to represent the United States in the 2000 President's Cup where he paired with Tiger Woods to compile a 3-2 record and helped the US team to victory.

 

An analyst for NBC and The Golf Channel, Notah is the first Native American to hold a national broadcasting position on network television.

MARK FREELAND

Mark graduated from Stanford University in 1994 and spent three years in the strategic consulting world with before earning his graduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 

Mark has been the President of NB3 Consulting since its inception in 2002 and has worked closely with all of the tribal projects the company has executed.  Mark serves as the day-to-day operational liaison for NB3 Consulting and oversees the entire NB3 Consulting, LLC team.

 

Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and still has family in the Midwest. Mark and his wife have two beautiful daughters and live in the Pacific Northwest.

JIM BARGER

A Lincoln, Nebraska native, Jim started his professional career after a semester off from college turned into a 27 year career with Landscapes Unlimited (LU), a preeminent construction and development company in golf and outdoor recreation. Throughout those 27 years, Barger progressed through all levels of the company, including serving as President from 2004 - 2012. LU also grew during this time from just a handful of employees to well over 1,000.

 

Late in 2012, Jim left LU to pursue other interests and at the beginning of 2013, created a new partnership with an industry veteran and together formed several entities that pursue private, municipal, international and specific set-aside projects in the Federal marketplace. Barger has been an integral part of the NB3 Consulting, LLC team since its inception and has been actively engaged in all of their development projects. Jim and his wife reside in Lincoln, Nebraska and have a daughter, a university freshman, and a son, a high school junior.
