It was opening day Friday at a new golf course north of Topeka.
The Firekeeper Golf Course north of the Prairie Band Casino had its first group tee off Friday morning.
The course plays anywhere from 4700 to 7400 yards depending on where you tee it up.
This is Native American Notah Begay's first signature golf course.
He was a four-time winner of the PGA Tour and roommate of Tiger Woods at Stanford University.
"This is his first signature course and we're the first golf course designed by a Native American on Native American soil. So we will always have that distinguished title," says Randy Towner, course manager.
Firekeeper's grand opening will be May 15 when big names like Roy Williams, Bill Self and Notah Begay himself will participate in a skins game, open to the viewing public.
